Le domaine
Alsacian winemakers since 1888
As early as 1648, the Wach family started out in the world of wine by working as coopers. From 1780, the wine production diversifies business activities. Since1888, the profession of Alsatian winegrower has been a full-time occupation.
The history of the Domaine des Marronniers
Since 2015, Pierre Wach has represented the seventh generation at the head of the family business. Many changes are then initiated, then the Domaine des Marronniers – a nod to the two old trees planted on the property – becomes the Domaine Wach. A new breath was given !
The harvest
The Domaine Wach comprises 9 hectares of vines, including 1 hectare classified as Grand Cru.
All year long, we take care of the vines as if they were a garden. The balance and ripeness of the fruit is at the heart of our observations, and manual harvesting contributes to our demand for quality.
Slow fermentation on fine lees precedes bottling, which takes place in the spring and summer following the harvest. We produce 50,000 bottles annually.
